Wedding Photographer in Cork, Ireland

March 07, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

Natural, relaxed wedding photography that captures your day as it actually happened — not how it was staged.

Your wedding day moves faster than you expect. The ceremony, the portraits, the speeches, the first dance — before you know it the night is over. What remains are the photographs. Getting them right matters more than most couples realise until after the day.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer in Cork, this post covers what FlashFocus offers, how the day works in practice, and what you can expect from booking to delivery.

About the photographer

My name is Diarmuid Gillingham. I am a Cork-based photographer with over 14 years of experience covering weddings, social events, live performances and corporate occasions across Cork and Ireland.

I started photographing professionally in 2012 and have worked across a wide range of venues, lighting conditions and event types since then. My approach to wedding photography is straightforward: I work in a calm, unobtrusive way so you and your guests can enjoy the day while I document it properly. You should barely notice I am there.

My background includes committee roles with Ballincollig Camera Club and the UCC Photography Society, and winning the 2017 UCC Erasmus Photographic Competition.

Wedding photography packages

Every wedding is different, so pricing is based on the coverage required rather than a fixed package. Below is a guide to current rates.

Ceremony only — from €300 Approximately 2–3 hours, covering the ceremony itself and immediate post-ceremony photographs.

After-ceremony portraits and family shots — €250–€300 Approximately 2–3 hours, focused on formal group shots and couple portraits following the ceremony.

Wedding afters / evening reception — €300–€450 Approximately 3–6 hours of evening coverage, including the meal, speeches, first dance and celebrations.

Full day wedding photography — €500–€900 Approximately 8–12 hours, from bridal preparation through to the evening reception.

Two-day wedding coverage — €1,000–€1,600 16 or more hours across both days.

All pricing includes time on the day, full post-production editing, and digital delivery of your final gallery. Travel within Cork is included as standard. For venues further afield, a small travel supplement may apply.

What the day looks like

For a full-day booking, coverage typically begins with bridal preparation — the details, the getting-ready moments, the anticipation before the ceremony. From there I move to the venue, covering the ceremony itself, the family and couple portraits after, and then the reception through to the evening.

I work around your schedule rather than imposing my own. If timings shift on the day — as they almost always do — I adapt without fuss.

For shorter bookings, we agree the coverage priorities in advance so nothing important is missed within the time available.

What you receive

Your final gallery is delivered digitally, with full resolution images edited and ready for printing. The number of images depends on the length of coverage and the pace of the day, but a full-day wedding typically produces between 400 and 600 edited photographs.

Turnaround time for delivery is discussed at the time of booking and confirmed in writing.
